Specialization:
Synthesis and characterization of functionalized carbon supports for PEM fuel cells
Bio:
Suzanne received her B.S. in Chemistry and B.S. in Science Education from The University of Arizona in 2011. Her undergraduate research under the direction of Katrina Miranda involved the synthesis of ruthenium complexes and their attachment to iron oxide nanoparticles to be used as selective nitric oxide (NO) donors. Upon arriving at UC Santa Barbara in 2011, Suzanne received the UCSB Doctoral Fellowship. In the Buratto group, her primary research involves organic functionalization of carbon support materials with the aim of stabilizing the Pt catalyst and improving the performance of PEM fuel cells. Upon completion of her Ph.D in the Buratto Group, Suzanne accepted a position at Intel in Hillsboro, Oregon.
